Hints of Breakfast.

San Alejandro Las Rocas Calatayud El Renegado red blend 2013 photographed by Jerry Hall on Winewaves & More.
  • The Calatayud wine region is within Aragon, in northern Spain bordering Cariïena. The soil is stoney, loose, high in lime and poor in nutrients (hence the name Las Rocas). Bodegas San Alejandro is a growers' co-operative of 350 local farmers representing 3,000 acres of vineyard in the region.
  • Las Rocas El Renegado 2013 opens with aromas of lightly smoky bacon, blueberry pancakes, cranberry, raspberry, coffee and rocks. On the tongue it's peppery, tart and minerally. If you're a renegade, pair this with breakfast any time. This is a blend of Garnacha, Tempranillo and Syrah. 14.3% ABV. Local price/750 ml: 13.
