Finding your sister in the wine business.

Truvée Central Coast Red Blend 2013 photographed by Jerry Hall on Winewaves & More.
  • The women behind Truvée are passionate about great wine. With over 11 years in the wine business the McBride sisters (Andréa and Robin) have been involved in every facet of the industry from grape growing, winemaking, importation, distribution, sales and marketing. Their passion lies in making wine and connecting with wine lovers around the world.
  • But the real story is how they nearly missed finding each other in life. Truvée translates to "to find". Separated early on in life, half-sisters Andréa and Robin were living seemingly parallel lives 6,500 miles apart in wine growing regions in New Zealand and California. Their reunion was a turning point that put them on the same path making wine, beginning in 2010. Since then the McBride sisters have assembled a team that's 80 percent women, including their head winemaker and vineyard director.
  • Central Coast Red Blend 2013 has aromas of vanilla, cherry, blueberry, pie spice and cocoa with a soft lush palate that's tart with dusty fine tannins in the finish. The experience is at first bright but then goes deep in terms of fruit color. The blend is Grenache and Syrah from sustainably farmed vineyards in San Benito, Chalone, Monterey and Paso Robles. This is a very drinkable and attractive blend for the price. Real cork. Local price/750 ml: 10.

  • Central Coast Chardonnay 2014 starts with pretty pear aromas that open up to include pie spice, vanilla sugar and lemon butter. It has a delightfully creamy mouthfeel with green apple and pineapple flavors, a Meyer lemon tartness and a lingering dry finish. Real cork. Local price/750 ml: 10.
