Groovy Riesling.

Underdog Dry Riesling Mosel Qualitatswein 2014 photographed by Jerry Hall on Winewaves & More.
  • Underdog Dry Riesling Mosel Qualitatswein 2014 is very groovy, in fact it reminded me of a nice Grüner Veltliner at first, before unfolding and delivering a fine Mosel Riesling experience. It's green apply, peachy and limey on the nose, with that wet slate characteristic and floral notes. The palate is very lively and citrusy, evolving to apricot and honey in the really satisfying crisp dry finish. Screw cap. Local price/750 ml: 15.
  • But what really makes this wine groovy is that it supports the FOH (Feed Our Homeless) Nashville Project. In this case, the proceeds go to the homeless pets cared for by East C.A.N. and SAFPAW. The wine even has a local connection. Nashville resident Thomas Haehn teamed up with his brother, Konrad Hähn, accomplished wine maker at Von Schleinitz winery in Germany to produce this and other Underdog wines. The dog in the picture is Sam, who went from homeless to a great home. For local availability, follow this link. Cheers to this effort!
