Estancia Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir 2014 vintage photographed by Jerry Hall on Winewaves & More.
  • Estancia is translated from the Spanish word for “estate”. Estancia, owned by Constellation Brands (NYSE: STZ), controls winemaking from experimental vineyard block trials to planting, harvesting, fermenting, and aging the wines. I recently picked these 2014 varietals at Donelson Liquors and was impressed with the current quality for the price. As for Donelson Liquors, their wine selection is fairly limited, but they do offer 10% off wines on Mondays. Cheers!
  • Monterey Chardonnay 2014 is all about the aromatics, in this case sexy and complex for a budget friendly Chardonnay, with lime, honey, cinnamon, and floral tones overlaying a well balanced creamy body. The finish is refreshingly tart. 13.5% ABV. Composite cork. Local price/750 ml: 11.
  • Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon shows a lot of purity in the nose and on the palate. The cherry, chocolate, citrus, spice, and vanilla aromas come together perfectly. The body is firm enough and the finish has a touch of cocoa powder that begs the next sip. 13.5% ABV. Composite cork. Local price/750 ml: 14.
  • Monterey Pinot Noir 2014 checks all the right boxes: sweet spice, berries, floral, earthy, vanilla. The palate is lively and spirited with citrus fruitiness tamed with barrel spice and a fine dusty finish. 13.5% ABV. Composite cork. Local price/750 ml: 14.
